Students participating in the North Okanagan-Shuswap International Education program can experience an excellent assortment of academic and elective courses during their stay.
With smaller high schools, students have the unique opportunity to be actively involved and engaged in school musical and theatrical productions, as well as sports teams and clubs.
Our school district is located in one of the most popular outdoor adventure locations in Canada. People travel from all over the world to experience our lakes, ski hills, mountain bike trails etc.
In the North Okanagan-Shuswap, students can choose from one of our five high schools. Each of our schools has excellent facilities for science, art, theater, athletics, music providing students with many academic and elective choices. Each school is slightly different from the others, reflecting the interests and needs of their students.
Our schools offer many opportunities to play sports such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, football, rugby, tennis, golf, mountain biking, and skiing. Not all schools offer all sports. Students who want to play a particular sport should confirm if that sport is offered at the school they are interested in.

The North Okanagan-Shuswap International Student Program provides an excellent learning experience in a safe and beautiful environment in one of the mildest climates in Canada. Info: The school district manages our homestay program. Our international students live with Canadian families where English is the main language spoken in the home. Our host families are carefully selected and matched with international students who have similar interests as much as is possible. Students will meet with our homestay coordinator shortly after arrival. The homestay coordinator works with students and homestay families to ensure that everyone has the best experience possible. All of the homestay neighborhoods are very safe.
