Greater Victoria School District offers students the choice of 7 secondary schools. Each school has science labs, art studios, theatres, gymnasiums and outdoor fields which allows our program to offer all core subjects and a wide variety of electives and sports programs to meet the student's individual interests as well as their educational and career goals.
Sports are offered at various times throughout the school year depending on the season. Choices include football (soccer), basketball, rowing, sailing, tennis, volleyball, and rugby.
Advanced Placement, Academies, Camps, Trips
Some of the secondary schools offer sports academies including soccer and baseball which the students would be need to apply for if interested in joining them. Applications are available at the individual schools websites.
We offer optional activities such as a Whistler ski trip, whale watching and Vancouver trip which students may sign up for once they arrive in Victoria - space is limited so best to register early!

Info: Victoria, BC is the capital city of the Province of British Columbia and is situated on the West Coast of Canada. Our city is very scenic and is surrounded by natural beauty. It is a mid-size city with all the amenities of larger cities. Government, education and tourism are major activities. Victoria offers a year-round moderate climate and a friendly, welcoming environment, perfect for international students to study and experience Canadian culture.

Info: We have 6 semester and one linear secondary school. At a semester school, students will study 4 courses each semester and they will study 8 courses at the linear school. Students will study English, core subjects and a variety of electives based on requirements and individual interest.
Accomodation: Homestay
Info: International students participating in the VIEP Homestay Program will feel welcome, comfortable and secure. The VIEP Homestay Program places visiting students into supportive, stable homes with active Canadian families. Homestays are arranged and supervised by the VISP office.

Info: Plus Homestay Monitoring fee: $700 for the full year and $450 for one semester, Homestay Orientation Fee: $225 (Fee covers extra days in homestay for arrival prior to the start of the program. It also covers pick up from The Victoria International Airport (YYJ)).
Dietary fees per month: Gluten Free $200 / Vegan $ 150 / Vegetarian, Lactose-free $ 100. Prices are subject to change.
