Students take advantage of a well-appointed auditorium, three sports pavilions, heated outdoor pool, squash courts, six fields in total for rugby, soccer and cricket, plus a well-resourced music suite, library, information centre, new technology block and the essential IT laboratories.
Year 10 is a compulsory curriculum of Maths, English, Science, History/Geography, PE, Music, Health, Art with two options such as languages.
Year 11 students are able to select 6 subjects. Subjects offered include maths, physics, chemistry, biology, English, Latin, Spanish, French, technology, art, graphics, ESOL, business studies, accounting, economics, geography and history.
Year 12 students select one of two qualifications available: Cambridge International Exams (CIE) A Levels, or the NZ National Certificate of Educational Achievement. Music and Performing Arts is a big part of the School's annual calendar of events including the joint School Production with Epsom Girls Grammar School, and a Senior Production by Year 13 boys and girls. Festival productions include: Pacifica Festival, Culture Night, Chinese Extravaganza, Winter Concert Series, Battle of the Bands, Stage Band Concert, and the University of Auckland graduation parades.
Auckland Grammar offers 45+ sports clubs and around 500 teams represent the school per year from social grades to high performance teams. Sport is a big part of the Auckland Grammar culture whether you a sportsman or spectator.
The school's sports fields and facilities include 3 full-sized rugby fields, 3 football fields, all-weather basketball courts and hockey surface, 2 cricket wickets, 4 tennis courts, heated swimming pool, weights room, 2 squash courts, and 2 well-equipped indoor gymnasiums.

Info: Auckland Grammar School is located in a highly desirable part of Auckland city. The school campus stretches over 16 hectares of land and is within 3 kms of downtown Auckland and the Viaduct harbour.
Outside the school gates, the Auckland region beckons with green parks, fresh air and great east and west coast beaches for surfing and swimming. The city is clean and inviting and the mix of 185 ethnicities is a model for intercultural harmony.
Specialized Programs: Leadership, Outdoor Education, Trips
Info: Year 12 students can register for the leadership camp. Outdoor education is incorporated into the school's curriculum to include geography and history field trips for example. The Year 10 week long school camp is based at Tongariro National Park, North Island.
International students are encouraged to participate in tour programmes during the school breaks to maximise their time in New Zealand. The School partners with several external organisations to deliver these trips.
Accommodation: Homestay
Info: International students live with carefully selected host families nearby school. All housing is required to be checked and pre-approved, and on-going management and monitoring is undertaken to ensure high standards of student care and well-being are maintained.
Many of our European students form lasting relationships with their host families and visit each other's countries in future years.

Creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for students is essential for a happy and successful school experience for everyone.
We recognise the unique needs of international students and provide tailored support through the International Department. Our aim is to provide a ‘home away from home’, whereby staff guide and assist students during their transition to New Zealand life, culture and norms. This includes a comprehensive orientation programme on arrival. In addition, the Headmaster’s International Committee is a student-led group which aims to help international students by providing big brother support. Counselling, career guidance and other support services are also available at the school throughout enrolment.
