Heretaunga College has modern facilities with bright airy classrooms, open spaces for breakout study. We have a fitness gym, large green open spaces for sporting activities.
International students are well supported by a caring International Department. We have a wide variety of interesting subjects and timetables can be fitted to suit individual interests.
International students stay with good quality homestays most of them within walking distance to the school. The students will have a single room with study area.

Info: The school is ideally located in an urban environment, an easy distance from New Zealand's capital City - Wellington. Within a few minutes of our school are bush walks, river trails, and camping spots. We have easy access to beaches and shopping malls.

Info: Outdoor Education: opportunities for international students to choose to take part in outdoor education activities offered throughout the year by the International Department.

Accommodation: Homestay
Info: All homestay families are police vetted and quality checked to follow the guidelines of the International Code of Practice. Our homestay manager provides support to all families and students. The majority of families are within walking distance to the school or a short ride by car or school bus.
The majority of houses in Upper Hutt are single storey with spacious sections and gardens.

All international students complete an induction programme on arrival and are given intensive support throughout their stay. All students are allocated to a mentoring group. Mentors provide close guidance and support to all students.

Please note that 1 term consists of approx. 10 weeks in school and host family. Moreover please take into account homestay fees during school breaks/holidays.
Additional Fees: Homestay fees of $280 per week, cost of extra-curricular activities like sport and culture clubs, specialist items for specialist subjects like Art Packs, curriculum trips and outdoor education Trips. (We advise a minimum of $250 per year be budgeted for these costs.), students have to purchase their uniform on arrival.
