We are lucky to have modern learning environments throughout the school, many that have recently been refurbished. In the Technology Faculty there is an industrial kitchen, which gives students a real experience when taking Food Technology or Hospitality and also excellent facilities for Hard & Soft Tech. In addition we have a swimming pool, modern library and recently refurbished school hall.

Info: Takapuna Grammar School is a government co-educational high school situated on the North Shore of Auckland city. It was opened in 1927 and is one of 7 Grammar Schools built in Auckland. The school is set in 12 hectares of grounds and playing fields, bordered by the Waitemata Harbour with Rangitoto Island dominating the seascape. We are located about 15 mins from the city centre.
There are approximately 2000 students enrolled at the school and approximately 140 of these are international students.
Specialized Programs: Leadership, Trips
Info: We caters for all interests and abilities, with over 100 activities, clubs and service groups, everyone is encouraged to participate in the things they enjoy and to try new ones. Our students make new friends, learn new skills and enjoy creating performances and giving service to the wider community. Numerous leadership opportunities are also available.
End of Year Programme - this is for students not sitting the NCEA examinations and includes recreational activities such as sports, hot pools, leadership opportunities and practical activities such as hospitality, creative cooking, 3D printing, Maori culture, performing arts & music.
Accommodation: Homestay
Info: We are lucky to have many host families that have been hosting our international students for many years. The host families open their homes and include the students as part of the family. Students have their own room and are provided with 3 meals a day and snacks.
Student Services & Orientation & Counseling:
We offer a two day orientation programme at the start of terms 1, 2 & 3 which covers tours of the school, school rules and set up of the school day. During this time we also bring in people to talk such as the Sport Faculty and trip opportunities available.
