Schools Welcome:
Whanganui Collegiate School offers German students a traditional boarding school education set in a small coastal city. Academic standards are very high, and our examination results are some of the best in the country.
International students board on site, sharing a room with a New Zealander. With three adult caregivers in each boarding house, our pastoral care is second to none offering complete peace of mind for our international parents. We expect English to be spoken in class and the House.
Playing sport is compulsory and we offer musical instrument lessons, speech and drama classes and debating clubs all of which help to develop English. We run an extensive outdoor education programme.

We are a 7 day a week school so everyone - NZ and International - stays for the weekend. Everyone plays sport so Saturdays and Sundays are as busy as Monday to Friday.
Boarding means that you make friends for life as your boarding house becomes your extended family while you are here in New Zealand. Your room-mate will be a new Zealander.
Our outdoor education programme means that you see lots of New Zealand during your stay. We can arrange adventure and/or movie tours of both the North and South Islands.
We are a campus based school. We have six boarding houses (four boys and two girls).
We have an outdoor pool, a sports hall, a music school, 500-seat theatre, our own hockey turf, five hectares of playing fields and our chapel all on site. Our dining hall prepares over 1000 meals per day and we have a cyber cafe.
Our new Science block has been recently refurbished and we have a 3D printing suite.
Students study five core subjects the whole year. These are English, Maths, Science, Social Studies and PE.
In addition students study a Language (Spanish or Maori) and an Arts subject (Art, Drama or Music). Students take a rotation through three technology subjects (Textiles, Wood Materials and Product Design).
